RPG Audio Mixer

Estimated time: 100 hours

Description

This is a project I've already started but have had trouble finishing. It's a Java-based cross-platform desktop application for playing music and audio clips during a pen & paper Dungeons & Dragons game (or your preferred RPG).

You can check out the project at http://www.rpgaudiomixer.com/

Currently the project is using SWT/JFace but I'd like to leverage Eclipse Rich Client Platform to allow for a user customizable interface.

Technologies

  • Java
  • SWT/JFace
  • Eclipse RCP

Tasks

I think we can breakdown the project this way:

  • Data Model
    • Playlist
    • Effects Palette
    • Audio File Aliases
    • Audio File Duration Cache
  • Audio Engine
    • Music Player
    • Effects Player
    • Environment Player
  • User Interface
    • File Browser
    • Playlist Viewer
    • Palette Viewer
    • Environment Viewer
    • Player/Mixer

Tools

  • Eclipse
  • Subclipse - SVN Client
  • Unfuddle - Has a Subversion repository, wiki, bug/feature tracking
